The water tower is a Grade II listed building. Built in 1909 by Major Philip Hunloke to serve the Bucknell Manor estate and the village of Bucknell. It was used until the 1950s when mains water was installed. The tower, often referred to as Trow Pool water tower, is very prominent on the M40 between junctions 9 and 10 at SP 54860 24800.Public car park just off the main road approaching the tower. Take care not to block the farmer's gate. There is also a lake if you walk on from the tower. Please note beyond the lake is Ardley Quarry Woods. Flying is possible there but it's a cautionary zone so be aware of your surroundings. The Tower is also close to the M40 so take care not to overfly.
Land owner permission not required.

Park at either the point on the map (labelled Smokers Corner on Google maps) or there are places to park along the road that runs along the reservoir. Easiest place to take off is probably the road as it was quiet when I was there or roof of your car. There's also parking on the A6003 if you want to start above the reservoir.
