Good 2 Go Can I fly my drone here?

Complete this short Q&A to find out whether you can fly a particular drone model in specific circumstances, and whether your drone is required to broadcast Remote ID.

This Q&A checks for all possibilities within the CAA-defined Open Category of flying, and also flights in the Specific Category where these are covered by a model flying association's Operational Authorisation.

We make the following assumptions:

  • You have any required Flyer ID and Operator ID for the drone or model aircraft you are using
  • Your drone has a camera
  • Your drone weighs less than 25kg
  • Your drone does not bear a UK5/EU5 or UK6/EU6 Class Mark label
  • You will be flying under any combination of the following permissions:
    • The Drone and Model Aircraft Code
    • An Article 16 Operational Authorisation
    • An A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC)
