Code of Conduct

At Grey Arrows Drone Club, we are committed to fostering a welcoming and responsible community of drone enthusiasts. Our goal is to promote safe and enjoyable drone flying experiences. To achieve this, we require all members to adhere to the following Code of Conduct:

  1. Safety First
    Prioritise safety at all times during drone operations.
    Comply with all applicable drone laws and regulations set forth by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and any local authorities.
  2. Respect for Others:
    Treat all club members, visitors, and the public with courtesy and respect.
    Refrain from engaging in any form of harassment, discrimination, or offensive behaviour based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or any other personal characteristic.
  3. Responsible Flying:
    Check Drone Scene before flying for flight restrictions and NOTAMS.
    Maintain visual contact with your drone at all times and avoid flying in restricted airspace or near airports unless authorised to do so.
    Do not fly drones over large events, or near emergency situations.
  4. Environmental Awareness:
    Fly drones with consideration for the environment and wildlife.
    Pick up any litter or debris left behind after flying.
  5. Adherence to Rules:
    Comply with all Club rules included in the FAQ and in the Terms of Service.
    Follow the instructions of Club and Meet-up organisers during drone-related events.
  6. Knowledge Sharing:
    Encourage knowledge sharing and support fellow members in learning about drone technology, regulations, and safe flying practices.
  7. Reporting Concerns:
    Report any incidents or safety concerns promptly to the Club Committee.
    Inform the Club Committee of any violations of this Code of Conduct.
  8. Maintain the Hobby's Reputation:
    Conduct yourself professionally to positively represent Grey Arrows Drone Club and the drone community.
    Avoid actions that could associate the hobby with negative behaviour or bring the hobby in to disrepute.

By adhering to this Code of Conduct we can create a thriving drone community where safety, respect, and responsible flying are upheld.

Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct will result in sanctions which may include the revocation of insurance, membership and participation rights.
