Hurkling Edge - Broomhead Moor (By mockingbird71)

This stunning part of edale is siituated approx 12 miles from sheffield and 8 miles from barnsley and is on the border between south yorkshire and derbyshire. This area is a mix of private farm land and the peak district national park. To park in this area simply pull up by the road side or find a layby of which there are plenty. Hurkling edge and broomhead moor is pretty remote but you will generally come accross people walking, especially on a weekend! Best to fly this area when there is little or no wind due to the moors exposed nature. The marker placed on the map is the best place to park. This are has some beautiful colours that acccentuate the rolling hills and the heather that adourns those hills. Feel free to ask questions on the forum if you need any further help or information flying this area.

Broadmarsh Coastal Park, Havant, Hants (By macspite)

2 metre height restricted car park. Plenty of space. Langstone Harbour to the south, quay where dredgers discharge to the north. Don't overfly the electricity main substation. To the east is Budd's Farm sewage works. Best flown when the wind is blowing from the west or south west.

Halls Hill, (South Downs Way) Buriton, Hants (By macspite)

The marker shows the car park, with space for around twenty cars. It has a height barrier set at 2 metres. On a Tuesday afternoon in winter it was still populated with three or four cars. The area is part of the South Downs Way and is popular with walkers and bike riders. It offers similar scenery to the adjacent Queen Elizabeth Country Park which is, unlike this, not free to park (£6/day). Although it is possible to fly from the car park the only way to keep line of site is to fly straight upwards (as I did for the pano that can be seen on Grey Arrows). It is, however, a useful place to stop to access the South Downs Way and open countryside

WORSBROUGH MILL COUNTRY PARK (By mockingbird71)

This video made from clips dating back to 2016 when current legislation was not in force. This area is now classed as a yellow zone and caution should be taken if you plan to fly this area, especially as it is a haven for a massive collection of bird species. I would recomend the flight is taken no lower than a few hundred feet so as not to scare any wildlife, plenty of take off spots around the perimeter of the country park. There is plenty of on road parking also the worsbrough mill car park. There is a working water mill that ground there own flower and would recomend a visit into the cafe there too. A great half day out for the family.

Barony Colliery A Frame (By JoeC)

Around a dozen free parking spaces available on site. Fairly popular with dog walkers and close to the main road so distances may be tricky depending on the time of day and weather.

HOLME MOSS (By mockingbird71)

On the A6024 between the woodhead reservoir and the highest part of yorkshire holme moss. there is at least 2 pull in parking areas you can fly the whole valley just what you see and nobody will bother you. there is a radio repeater station at the top of home moss and for obvious reasons should be steared clear of. This area has to be flown when there is little to no wind as the wind is like a gale in this area when its blowing.
