Hove Cemetery, Brighton and Hove added to Historic Buildings in South East by Prawntot on 21/09/2025

Hove Cemetery is a pretty stunning location and good for discrete droning without disturbing anyone.

It is also the location of the old railway route which ran from Dyke Junction Halt (now Aldrington Station) to Devil's Dyke Railway Station from 1887 until it closed in 1938.

Part of the line ran around Hove Cemetery, the setting for the attached video and its accompanying song by George Elliott.

Headstone Manor Recreation Ground, Harrow (By pjmp)

This is a large park in Harrow, with a historic manor house with a moat and tithe barn.

Although there are a lot of sports pitches, they are not all in use all the time. The council have currently no restrictions on the use of drones in the park.

There is a cafe and 2 car parks. Headstone Lane Station (Lioness Line & national rail) is also close by, not to mention several bus stops.

Keyhaven Marshes, New Forest (By Prawntot)

Kayhaven Marshes is a beautiful location for a drone flight, with Hurst Castle and lighthouse nearby too. The neighbouring yacht club gives an additional focal point of interest.

Saint Andrews Church, South Kesteven (By Sammie99)

Haconby is a lovely, quiet little village which can be reached by road from Bourne, or if you like a walk or cycle it is possible to get there from West Pinchbeck. The roads are nearly deserted and there are plenty of quiet locations to take off and land. I went from Haconby Drove, which incidentally was a very good location to practise active track as I got my drone to follow me for 3 miles. The village is well worth a visit, especially The Hare hounds!

To the east of Sittingbourne the stadium hosts both speedway and dog racing.

Loads of rood to park and fly when there are no events on.

Kingswood Canal Junction, Warwick (By t0mroche)

Plenty to take in, lots of canal barges, bridges & countryside views. There is also a railway line running through if you’re lucky enough to spot a train like I was!

Walked from their car park through to the T junction and took off from the bridge at the end. Not many people around but do be mindful of potential inhabitants of the barges.

St. Mary The Virgin Church, Warwick (By t0mroche)

A lesser known gem of the Warwickshire country side. Quite an impressive building with barely anybody around (visited on a Tuesday lunch time).

Parked their car park to the rear & walked through the church yard & took off from the road. Not the easiest place to fly due to the height of surroundings & houses nearby but can be done with care

Umberslade Obelisk, Stratford-on-Avon (By t0mroche)

Visible from the M40 northbound. Flying from the shown TOAL point provides good views of the M40 in both directions as well as countryside.

Parked & took off from the section of Nuthurst Rd that overpasses the M40, the obelisk is visible & provides good VLOS for flying
