There is parking to the east of the bridge in a small layby. The mudflats of Chichester Harbour may be exposed depending on the state of the tide. I have flown several times from this site without problems, I assume the layby belongs to the local authority, Havant Borough Council.
The bridge is a replacement for a wooden trestle which had a weight limit. Passengers on buses onto and off the island had to get off the vehicle and walk across with the bus then waiting for them on the other side. To the west of the bridge are the remains of the rail bridge, demolished after closure of the branch line in 1963.
The bridge separates Langstone and Chichester harbours.
Land owner permission requirements unknown.
