Gwrych Castle added to Castles and Fortifications in Wales by PhilipM on 22/07/2020

There is a parking area just after the entrance paypoint, if you or somebody with you is disabled tell them, they will then have the gates opened for you to drive all the way up to the castle

Wooden Bridge, Bibury (By Barry7)

This is a lovely fully wooden bridge, in a lovely little village with trout farm and cafe plus nice hotel with great food.
However, it is covered by Brize Norton as a red area, and the small area of grass/meadowland on opposite side of river from road is NT land ( posters stating No Drones, ring police etc ) are posted on that side of river? I only found them after i had already finished my short flight down river to bridge, however no one paid me any attention and i made sure as usual i followed all rules with regard to distance from people and animals

Criccieth and the Castle (By Edison)

Criccieth is a Welsh seaside resort on the Llŷn Peninsula that is accessible by bus and national rail. It is very hilly and is difficult to navigate with a wheelchair, but people were willing to help when needed.

On a rocky outcrop above the town sits the castle, originally built by Llywelyn the Great of the kingdom of Gwynedd, but was heavily modified following its capture by English forces of Edward I in the late 13th century.

I took off and landed from the roadside at the entrance to the castle on Castle Street. CADW claim to not allow flights over their property but the castle is not open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. ;)

Pwllheli Harbour (By Edison)

Pwllheli is a typical Welsh seaside resort town, it is accessible by bus and national rail. I took off and landed from the carpark between the railway station and the harbour.

There is a café next to the railway station that does really nice ice cream, but be aware that it closes quite early (can't remember if it was 2pm or 3pm)

Portishead Marina, Portishead, Bristol (By Barry7)

At time of flight (early morning) no activity at marina so no permission needed. If you wanted to fly during busy times then I believe asking Harbour Master would be appropriate . Plenty of parking on nearby roads, coffee shops and pub on site, nice pastries from 1 shop. Coastal scenery just along shoreline within 200 yards . Lifeboat station also here.

The Green Bridge is a wooden footbridge across the River Avon within Chatelherault Country Park between Hamilton and Larkhall in South Lanarkshire. It is part of a walking route though the park but can also be accessed via a single track road from the B7078 near Larkhall.
