A great place for flying and a day out at the lake in Llanberis, North Wales. Parking is easy as there is a small area at the entrance to where the castle is. It's easy to find also. Head into Llanberis and before you enter the town it is on the right when you come out of the 40 zone. Great views of the castle, two lakes and the Snowdonia Mountain range. It is also down the road from the train that takes you up Snowdon.
Land owner permission requirements unknown.

Old Basing Common is a wide open area next to the remains of Basing House. It once rivaled Hampton Court Palace in its size ( more rooms ) and opulence. Today only parts of the basement or lower ground floor, plus the foundations and earthworks, remain.Other than a few low trees along old boundaries, the area us wide and open. The Basing House remains are slightly to the North of the pin pointed location.Care should be taken as there are pylons running to the south of the Common alongside the main road. There are many footpaths running across the area so expect people to be about and in summer there are loose horses on the fields that can get a little nosy.Access is easy, you can park along the roads by the Common in Old Basing to the East or in the Basing Limepits Carpark ( just off the A33 on Redbridge Lane ) just to the West.
Land owner permission not required.

The Castle, built in the 1200’s still shows a great moat all the way around the mount. Some great FPV possibilities. (Safe flying obviously)Lots of paths up to & around the castle that can get a little boggy when wet. The area can also become busy so be very aware of the general public & picking your time of day is key.

Great views across the county from up here - if flying from the bottom of the hill don't forget to add the height of the hill to your max altitude setting. As you'll see it lies on the fringe of an amber area, which is a local gliding club, and is frequently used as a launch area by paragliders too, thanks to it's favourable updraughts, so take care to check for both gliding and paraglider activity before flying.Park on the road at the foot of the hill
