Luss, Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park (By Drumsagard)

Luss is a village in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, on the west bank of Loch Lomond in the heart of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. It is one of Scotland's 40 National Scenic Areas.
Luss is a conservation village with very limited parking, however a large new car park has been recently opened on the main road just outside the village. Parking charges do apply 24hrs a day/365 days a year. In summer Luss and Loch Lomond as a whole can be extremely busy with tourists. There are plenty of TOAL spots around the lochside and public footpaths, BUT be aware of the sea plane's that fly up and down the loch from their base at Cameron House just south of Luss.

Clackmannan Tower, Clackmannan (By Drumsagard)

Clackmannan Tower is in a park on King's Seat Hill at the west end of the Hight St. in Clackmannan, Scotland. A short footpath leads from the end of the High St. to the top of the hill. Parking and space is very limited at the gate at the start of the path but parking can be found back on the High St. Although this area is marked on Google maps as a park, cattle can also be found grazing here.

Clackmannan Tower is a five-storey tower house, situated at the summit of King's Seat Hill in Clackmannan, Clackmannanshire, Scotland. It dates back to at least the 14th century, when it was inhabited by King David II of Scotland, and David is recorded as selling it to his cousin Robert Bruce in 1359.

Cloburn Quarry Co. Ltd is just off the A73 Lanark to Biggar road in South Lanarkshire. It is one of Europe's leading red stone quarries. Parking is very limited on the A73 but there are several narrow single track farm and forest roads with laybys around the area where a drone can be launched. Lock 27 Bar & Grill, Anniesland, Glasgow (By Drumsagard)

Lock 27 Bar & Grill is a casual canal side Glasgow bar with great pub food and immaculate interior and an outside terrace for sunny days.
I've dropped the pin on the map on the other side of the canal as there is a small area of waste ground that is ideal for TOAL away from Scottish Canals property with room for a few cars too. Though Scottish Canals seem have relaxed their drone policy slightly and now say "Leisure drone operators must follow the Civil Aviation Authority Drone Code at all times; flying over boats, lock chambers, bridges, The Falkirk Wheel, The Kelpies, and other members of the public is not permitted."

The church is only one mile from the actual airport runway. Permission for a drone flight is required from the ATS Watch Manager of the day, but they will only consider your request once you have contacted Police Scotland and been issued with a Police Incident No. Diagonally across from the church on Ayr Road is a small grassy area off the main road which is suitable for TOAL.

Maryhill Locks, Glasgow (By Drumsagard)

Maryhill Locks, built 1787-1790 for the Forth & Clyde Canal. There are five locks in this flight, which is known as the Maryhill Locks. Numbered 21 to 25, they assist the canal in its descent into the Kelvin valley, and each lock is connected with its neighbour by an oval basin. The purpose of the basins was to permit boats to pass each other whilst going through the series of locks.

My TOAL spot was on Bantaskin St. outside Scottish Canals property. Although I've put land owner permissions not known, Scottish Canals do have a drone policy. Details at - https://www.scottishcanals.co.uk/news/use-drones-scotlands-canals/

There is parking by the side of the B725 with paths to the beach. Be aware of the signs about the dangers of the mudflats! Cuningar Loop Woodland Park (By Drumsagard)

This small woodland park is in the middle of the City of Glasgow on a loop in the middle of the river Clyde. It is owned by Forestry & Land Scotland who allow drone flights from their property. From their website "You’re allowed to fly a drone on Scotland’s national forests and land, as long as you’re following the Civil Aviation Authority’s guidelines, including the Drone Code, and all other legal requirements, such as those relating to privacy/data protection, wildlife disturbance and the Health and Safety at Work Act. The CAA guidelines and Drone Code include the requirement to have your drone in sight at all times, which may not be possible in some forested areas. All pilots must follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code and respect other people’s interests, care for the environment and take responsibility for your own actions. If you want to fly drones for professional reasons, please contact the relevant regional office to apply for permission as early as possible in your planning."

There is plenty of parking available with access points to the park from both sides of the river. One thing to note though, this park is normally very busy so I'd suggest early morning or late evening flights.
