Lagangarbh Hut and Buachaille Etive Mòr (By JoeC)

The iconic Lagangarbh Hut stands to the north of Buachaille Etive Mòr. It is owned and operated by the Scottish Mountaineering Club.

There is a public carpark on the A82, but it's rough going and perhaps not recommend it for smaller vehicles. Once parked, a short walk along a path will take you far enough away from the road/carpark and the hut for TOAL, but watch for other people as it's a popular place, particularly with photographers.

Dalcairney Falls (By JoeC)

There is a single-track road that goes all the way to the falls, though at points I was glad of the 4x4 (I wouldn't want to be doing it in a little hatchback). There is a space for parking at the falls that's big enough for two or three vehicles.

Be warned that there is a path down towards the falls, but it is quite steep and has some deep 'steps' with no handrail. It takes you to the top of a drop (~20ft cliff) down into the gorge where the waterfall is. You can't get right down to it, so you need to fly between some trees and then down. My Mini 3 struggled to get enough satellites for GPS and got very wet from the mist.

In summary: It's a nice location, but it's a bit out of the way and not the easiest of locations for an inexperienced pilot.

Cambusnethan Priory (By JoeC)

There's a car park on Castlehill Road. Unless you have a 4x4, I'd park there and walk down to the Priory... I tried to drive down in a Yaris and got stuck in one of the potholes!

Greenan Castle (By JoeC)

There are two carparks nearby (satnav KA7 4JT), but there is a walk along the beach with a scramble down a drop of a few feet from the carpark. A fairly popular beach so be prepared for people walking past (I headed straight out to sea and mostly stayed there). The area is outside the Prestwick FRZ, but on the flight path for light aircraft so keep your eyes peeled and be prepared to land.
